Aurora (アウロラ, Aurora?), better known as the demon Diablos (ディアボロス, Diaborosu?), was an enigmatic person from ancient hero lore; known as the Witch of Calamity who plunged the world into chaos.[1] Though long dead, the eponymous Cult of Diablos continues to exploit her corpse for their own ends.[2] Following the Red Moon Incident, a portion of her spirit began residing within Claire Kagenou.[3][4]
Appearance[]
Aurora, an exceptionally beautiful and exquisite woman of unparalleled elegance, radiates a class that distinguishes her. Her striking features epitomize her captivating charm. She boasts a stunning face framed by long, violet-black hair. Her eyes are a captivating shade of violet, and a beauty mark the right side of her mouth. With a tall and slender figure, she embodies the quintessential image of a beautiful woman, complete with an ample chest, gracefully curved legs, and nearly translucent skin. Cid Kagenou himself has described her as a woman of unparalleled beauty, akin to a work of art brought to life.
Aurora wears 2 half-shaped golden decorative earrings with an earring drop in both ears, with a tied-up hairstyle of 3 large tails that reach down to her feet, being the one in the middle length and more collected than those of the other 2 sides.
She wears a semi-purple black dress with gold accents, a long black robe coat that had long sleeves that reached her hands accented with a gold decorative silhouette that covered the back, and black high-heeled shoes.
Her dress is generally looks like a veiled woman, leaving her medium neckline uncovered with green jewels around the neck, with a golden-yellowish green jeweled silhouette on the right-side of the middle above the abdomen, attached to a long 2-layer skirt, which raised the front part a little slightly to cover the knees and dark purple heels.
As a child, Aurora wore a long white dress-robe similar to a patient at a hospital.
Spiritual Possession[]
While Aurora possesses the body of Claire Kagenou, Claire's appearance remains unchanged except for her eyes and mannerisms. As noted by Beta in the Light Novel and Manga, Aurora's character takes over Claire's form but does not present itself due to Claire's lesser magic power than Aurora.
In the anime, Aurora adopts the same body shape that she had along with her physical appearance and features, but retaining the clothing that the host was wearing before Aurora possessed her. Although, by retaining the clothing, it constricts her a little at the blouse level on her chest that Aurora has to open her neckline a little.

Due to Aurora's amnesia, little is known about her past or motives. She is playful, humorous, and seems to be fond of Cid Kagenou. She had lost most of her memories from centuries of isolation by the time the current day of the "Goddess's Trial" happened. However, it's revealed she retained a lot more memories than she lets on. While reviewing the past memories, she has shown disappointment and is probably apathetic towards her younger self. Following her freedom from the Sanctuary, she requests Cid to kill her.
After having entered the body of Cid's sister, Claire Kagenou, she spends her time in an observant way and having fun watching Claire interact with other people, especially with other girls, who try to flirt with her brother. Aurora shows herself concerned with Claire when she gets into dangerous situations and has her sometimes to train her body so that she can use it to draw out and use more magical power, even if it is for a limited period of time. Aurora, on several occasions, hints to Claire about the true identity of her own brother, Cid and the things he really does, but does not tell her directly for certain reasons, which according to her, it is better for her not to say, and she replies to Claire not to risk so much and to trust more in that "person", since he has always been protecting her since she was little.
Powers & Abilities[]
Although the extent of Aurora's true power remains unknown, it is implied that her strength rivals Shadow, since the Sanctuary summoned a projection of her to face him as an "equal" opponent. While her projection was ultimately defeated, Cid himself noted that it paled in comparison to the real her. Whilst possessing Claire's body, she is unable to use her full strength but is still strong enough to easily overwhelm Elisabeth.

Physical Prowess[]
Although her full prowess in this field remains unknown, Aurora seems to be deficient at hand-to-hand combat, although this was only seen with her projection. While fighting alongside Cid during the test at the Sanctuary, she could only stomp on her enemies with her heels.
On the other hand, Aurora is skilled with medium-range weapons, like polearms, though it is speculated that she uses magic to make it easier. Her primary weapon appears to be a scythe, using one in both her projection's fight against Shadow and again later while possessing Claire's body.
Despite Aurora being of the most famous mages in history, she is still physically weak. Cid notes that she's not particularly good with a sword.
Analytical Fighter[]
Aurora has proven to be a very good person at analyzing her opponent's fighting style and being able to read his movements, fast enough so that she can adjust her attacks against him, in such a way that it gives her an opportunity to defeat him. During her first appearance as the "Ideal Opponent" for Shadow during the "Test of the Goddess Beatrix", seeing that Shadow is a very strong opponent in which normal attacks would not work against him, Aurora changed her strategy and way of attacking into a more effective and deadly way in order to defeat him although in the end it was of no use since she lost against Shadow.
Supernatural/Demonic Biology[]

Due to the multiple magical experiments that were carried out on Aurora since she was a child, by introducing all kinds of chemical substances and demonic properties into her, Aurora developed both a physical and a magical biology that gave her all great powers that gave her the title of "the Witch of Calamity", the woman who caused chaos in the world.
After becoming the Demon King Diablos, her biology became demonic with great magical vitality, that even if her limbs were severed, they still lived indefinitely, containing a part of the consciousness and soul of what Aurora once was, attacking anyone nearby at hostility level, and continuing to regenerate their flesh and demon cells, as long as they were in low numbers.[5]
Ancient Mystic Knowledge[]
Aurora has a vast knowledge related to the ancient scriptures of the world, which allows her to create and formulate powerful spells that can help her in many ways. It is speculated that this was compulsorily learned while she was the victim of the Cult's experiments, researching her into magic. While Aurora and Cid Kagenou were looking for a way to get out of the Sanctuary, as they reached its core, Aurora was able to easily read the ancient rune writings that were written on the Hero's sword, which she supposed, that Cid had also read them., in just an instant, (without knowing that he only guessed it).
Magic[]
While her full power remains unknown, Aurora is one of the strongest magic users in the series. Her fighting style appears to revolve around summoning and telepathically manipulating several different weapons. Whilst possessing Claire, she was also capable of taking control of Elisabeth's blood manipulation, redirecting her attacks and causing her body to explode.[6][7]
Despite having been imprisoned for so long, her projection was capable of manifesting a magical door to summon the Shadow to her side. Aside from this, she can read magic runes.
- Spell Caster: Aurora being a master of witchcraft, has the ability to cast strong spells of any kind either to support, or curse in extreme cases, when she came face to face with Shadow's older sister in her mental space, In the Red Tower of the Lawless City, Claire Kagenou, placed a spell mark on her right hand, to help her control and manage Elisabeth's cursed blood, allowing Claire, in certain circumstances, to use the blood spells she could use are presented to him and other things.
- Witch Possession: Fragments of Aurora's ego/soul exist in some form as long as those who carry Diabolos cells remain, with the Aurora which used to inhabit the Left Arm of Diabolos residing in the Lindwurm Sanctuary continuing to exist as a spirit even after the Sanctuary is destroyed. At the climax of the Red Moon Incident, due to Claire possessing blood from the Three Heroes and recently has her blood sucked by and vampirized by Elizabeth, the two blood types which originated and diverged from Diabolos allows Aurora to inhabit her body as a host. In this state Aurora is able to exert some of her magical prowess through Claire, and even able to etch a seal into Claire's hand to help stabilize Claire's magical power. However, due to the limitations of Claire's body, Aurora is unable to output too much of her own energy without damaging Claire.

Blood Magic[]

Aurora can project a blood-colored magic spear from any direction unpredictably at such a fast pace that no magic knight can evade or stop it, even for an elite magic knight. Its attack speed is 2 to 5 times faster than that of ordinary bullets, rivaling that of rifle weapons.
This ability gives her such a fierce and almost inescapable attack power, that it is as if one were trapped in a kind of net, from which it is very difficult to get out or even survive. Usually, Aurora begins to project these attacks from below the ground feet, either at her enemies or at herself. When she first appeared, Aurora in memory form, used this ability against Shadow during the Goddess's Trial.[8]
Blood Magic is her specialty. Her blood also forms the catalyst for Monster Progenitor situations and is believed to be an important component for humans to achieve immortality.
- Shapeshifting Weapon: Using her magic, Aurora is able to summon wave after wave of weapons onto her target as she can project, change, control, and modify all kinds of weapons from spears to swords and scythes that she can use to launch them as projectiles or wield them with her hands through magic, even redirect them anywhere she wants (as a curious fact, all these tend to turn red).[9]
- Blood Manipulation: Aurora can manipulate or control the blood of those who carry her genes: her own blood, those who can trace their lineage to the Three Heroes, and even Vampires, whose blood are a result of divergent adaptation of the blood of Diabolos. After possessing Claire's body, Aurora proves she can imprint a spell mark on her hand which can control the possession and vampiric curses within her body, and when using Claire's body to fight Elisabeth, Aurora was able to stop the vampire's blood attacks and redirect them back, forcing Elizabeth to attack in a different manner.[7]
Trackable Perception[]

Aurora can identify and locate people through her magic, even if they are hide their identities. When Cid in his Shadow alias defeated Aurora in the Goddess Trials, he was found shortly after by a magical door that prompted him to enter. After entering, he saw Aurora chained up and while she was able to quickly identify him as Shadow.[5]
Power Mimicry[]
Similar to Shadow, Aurora possesses the ability to copy and execute the powerful magical techniques of other users she knows just by seeing their techniques once. Aurora is able to reproduce or reinvent their techniques with just her body and magical power without depending on an artifact or a magical catalyst in it. However, because if Aurora does not have her own body, when using a host body of a female descendant of the Three Heroines (which is in this case Claire Kagenou), depending on the magical power or the requirement demanded by the "Magic Technique ", the host's body may not be able to withstand its magical pressure, causing the host's body to self-destruct.

- I…Am…Atomic Variations:
- Imitate Atomic | I Am the All-Range Atomic: Aurora was able to replicate Cid's "I Am the All-Range Atomic" technique, a variant of I Am Atomic, after to have only seen it once during his release at the hands of Shadow inside the Sanctuary.[10] However, at the time, Aurora was unable to complete it because Claire's body was unable to endure its due to the magical pressure exerted by the technique.[11] Within the Game, Aurora manages to execute the "I Am the All-Range Atomic" Technique, while possessing Claire's body, but in exchange for all the magical energy of both Claire and partly Aurora, being completely exhausted, along with all physical energy, by Claire.[ANIME/GAME ONLY]
- Re: Atomic: She later creates her own variant of the technique, where magic is concentrated from her index finger to her entire hand, leading to a devastating subsequent strike. The impact releases an explosion of magic.[GAME ONLY]
- Atomic Duo | I Am the All-Range Atomic: Both Shadow and Aurora execute the "I Am the All-Range Atomic", with Shadow giving a magical-infused sword is struck into the ground. And Aurora releases a concentrated amount of magic, resulting in two explosions of magic.[GAME ONLY]
- Slime Bodysuit: In the anime, after taking possession of Claire's body during her fight with Elisabeth, it was revealed that Aurora had reinvented Shadow's Slime Bodysuit by utilizing blood and manipulating the properties of light as opposed to slime. This allowed her to shapeshift as Claire seamlessly and apply healing to herself after Claire's body was unable to bear the magical pressure of "I Am the All-Range Atomic".

- The name Aurora means dawn in Latin.
- The Name of Aurora, in turn, represents the name of the "goddess from Greek mythology", who announces the arrival of a new dawn, and the natural phenomenon that occurs at the north and south elated poles of the planet, in the night sky.
- Aurora's mana color is "Blood Red"
- As Diablos, Aurora is indirectly responsible for causing the Cult of Diablos to be formed and placing a "curse" on the Three Heroes' descendants.
- In the novel and manga, Aurora possesses Claire causing only her irises to change color. The change is more drastic in the anime as it causes Claire's body to adopt the corporeal form of Aurora.
- In Anime/Game, Aurora supposes or believes that the members of Shadow Garden can exercise (apparently) the destructive magical technique of their lord, Shadow. But according to Beta, this is impossible for them.[11]
