Demon Possession AN

Possession (悪魔憑あくまつ, Akumatsuki?) is a hereditary condition inherited by the female descendants of the Three Heroes. The blood disease causes the sudden onset of magical overlord. Extended case symptoms include cancerous growths and rapid decay of the body, culminating in death.[1][2]

Propagation Among Races[]

The frequency of possession varies among different races based on blood dilution. Each subsequent generation lowers the percentage of the ancestor's blood and decreases the chance of recurrence. Humans, possessing a shorter life expectancy than other humanoid races, exhibit a lower occurrence rate of possession. Conversely, elves and therianthropes demonstrate a higher onset rate. This disparity is primarily attributed to elves' longer lifespans that result in longer generations.[WEB NOVEL ONLY][3]

Cure[]

Efforts by the Cult of Diablos to cure possession with magic proved futile in the past. Instead they use subjects to research further possible

In his youth, Cid Kagenou made a groundbreaking discovery when he encountered an individual suffering from possession. Through magical experimentation, he harnessed the immense magic power emanating from the possessed individual, significantly enhancing his own magical abilities and control. By successfully suppressing the escalating magical instability within the decaying possessed body, Cid inadvertently healed Alpha, developing a cure that restored her to her original form. All of the Seven Shadows were later cured as well. Cid's prowess extended to curing his sister, Claire Kagenou, from possession when she reached 14 years old.[4] Initially mistaking it for an error in her mana flow, Cid's skill and knowledge allowed him to heal her affliction successfully.[5]

After the departure of the Seven Shadows Cid Kagenou, Alpha and Epsilon develop the ability to cure individuals afflicted by possession. They successfully treat those displaying possessed symptoms, subsequently recruiting them into the Shadow Garden organization during its membership expansion phase.[6]

Consanguineous Connections[]

Shadow Garden's research into possession and the Vampire Progenitor's blood led her to formulate a hypothesis. Through their investigations, they discovered a possible progeny connection between the Possessed and that of the Vampire Progenitors.

After securing the Blood Queen's blood in a vial, Beta brings it to the lab for Eta's analysis. Through their research, they validate Eta's theory, indicating the potential validity of a connection between the possessed blood and the Progenitors' blood. Recognizing the potential usefulness of vampiric power combined with proper training, Shadow Garden successfully masters the Progenitors' technique.[7]
