Chronology[]

Background[]

Assault on the Oriana Kingdom[]

At some point in the past, Velgalta Empire sent one hundred thousand soldiers to attack Oriana Kingdom as they had already laid siege on their capital which made Velgalta's side think was about to win, until Oriana activated "Black Rose" and their army suffered a crushing defeat after being slayed by the Magical Beasts.[1]

Madlid Abandonment[]

In the past, there was a shipping city called Madlid which located in the easternmost part near the border of the Vegalta Empire, that used to be prosperous due to the shipping industry that used the Nyle River.

But about a century ago, a formidable monster known as Malak appeared and made his own territory at the coastline that was supposed to be a docking area, which disrupted the city's transportation routes until it was finally stopped and the central authorities of the Velgalta Empire decided to abandoned Madlid because their inability to vanquish Malak had caused a decline in the city's finances to the point of accelerating the depopulation of the city that was once rich in national taxes.

Madlid is also located considerably far away from the capital, making it ill-suited for commerce. Due to the mountainous nature of the land, it is difficult to grow crops, so they have established a collusive relationship with the Cult in exchange for supplies.

Bushin Festival Tournament[]

Word came out that the Velgalta Empire is experiencing a new wave of prosperity due to Mitsugoshi Company opening up a branch in their imperial capital, which draws all of Madlid’s youth and merchants to uproot their lives and move there.

After hearing the rumors, the Madlid's feudal lord wants to repopulate his city and orders Rude to meet with the company's director, Luna and tries to convince her to buy a prime property in Madlid and opening her branch store in his city, which he gave a low price of 100 million Zeni.

When one of her employees tells her that they found petroleum deposits in the area on their survey, Luna decides to buy every property in that street and explains that she wants to redevelop the city if he's willing to meet their conditions and promises to develop Madlid into the greatest city in Velgalta. Then, Luna ordered her employees to buy up all the necessary land downstream of the Nyle tributary and building a canal there.[2]
